not connected

when I sync my Iphone to Itunes it tells me theres an update for the Iphone. When I click update It tells me that I am not connected to the Internet. I have tried using different usb ports, friends internet, rebooting everything but I can not get hooked up. I even downloaded itunes again. Please somebody help! The funny thing is that when I want to buy music or something it sure knows that i am connected and takes my cash.

yes . I also had this problem the last time I hooked up my iPod (that I sold when I got my iPhone) I had to go and redown load iTunes to get the latest ver. Because it wouldn't down load it for me cause it said I was not conected.

These might help:

iTunes for Windows: iTunes Store Connection Troubleshooting
iTunes 7 for Windows: iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server

Also check Internet Explorer's proxy settings, I think iTunes uses them.
