No need of sender names

One of my friend uses the 2.2 version. But in this version, when ever we receive any text messages, the sender name is also displayed. He does not like this to be displayed. He has also posted this in several forums. But not able to get proper reply. Can any one tell how to lock that facility?

That is a pretty good question however I am not sure that he is able to get red of the senders name on messages received. I checked through the manual and I can not see anyway to accomplish that.
