Well if you think that the Iphone is being made fun off then just read some reports of the Google Phone. The G1 phone is getting horrible reviews in all the major publications here in Europe and Asia.

The Google (Android) version of smartphones are having their inevitable start-up challenges. This ought to be expected. After all, while Google writes the software for the operating system, many, many manufacturers are developing their hardware versions of the Android smartphone.

I seriously doubt that all of the manufacturers are perfectly "harmonized" with the Android operating system as they make their first attempt at developing a product for the Android platform. However, as manufacturers develop successive hardware models, they will learn how to get better and better.

But the improvements, short term, will simply not be good enough to keep pace with the iPhone. The real challenge will not be experienced by Apple until Android phones are much more mature and stable. When that happens, we will see some amazing developments due to competitive pressure.
