External Alternative for Raising Volume

I bought an iHome "clock radio" that has a docking place for the iPhone. The speakers in it are decent but not symphonic performance quality. For about $150, you can have this as an option when you want more volume output.

i am more concerned with the speaker phone volume, sorry i should have mentioned that. it's difficult when speaking in the car on speaker phone , you can barely hear the other person.

The volume control will control overall volume, and the fader will let you adjust the relative sound level throughout the room.

fader control? I am not familiar to this term. As you said it helps to relative sound level. but can you please say little bit more about fader control.
