I don't think they can ignore java. In most of the phones java is used for making the apps games etc.

To get back to the subject, Java is a very sensible thing to include. Has a small footprint and can employ powerful apps. Don't know what Jobs is talking about. The only way he can make anything of Flash is to employ it fully, and not the 'lite' version which as we know is a real let-down on a phone.

I don't see why they wouldn't use Java in the iPhone, but I guess they won't be. That's an odd decision. At least, they may use Flash. I sure hope, so. Does anyone know what Steve Jobs has against Java specifically? What is wrong with Java? I think it can be more useful than Flash. |

The iphone does not support adobe flash, but on an update coming soon, it will support Silverlight from Microsoft.
