Repligo?

Greetings all. Doing some research about iphone. For work I get pdf pages that contain lots of phone numbers and email info so being able to click a emmbeded contanct from a pdf file is very handy. The crackberry users at work are able to do this with Repligo. Does anyone know if Repligo or a Repligo type app will work on iphone or will iphone automatically do this? I know you can click an emmbeded contact from email but unsure about a pdf file.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I guess this also brings up the pdf question. Will iphone be able to open pdf files?

Hello, tinker51, welcome to the forums.

Yes, iPhone will have a PDF files reader. Probalbly, it will have Repligo-like functions that you need too.

I couldn't imagine them putting it out without being able to read a pdf but I can't find anything that says definitively yes. Apple's web site doesn't mention anything. When I talk to the people in the Apple store they say they don't know anything more than what is on the web site. When I talk to the people at the Cingular store they ask me if I want fries with my drink.

Steve Jobs had an interview with New York Times, here is a quote from their iPhone FAQ (based on that interview):

Quote:
Can it open Word and Excel documents? –No. (Steve Jobs says it can open PDF files, though.)

I'm glad it can open PDFs, because it would have been pretty bad if it couldn't. It's a shame it can't open Word and Excel files, though. I know those are Microsoft programs, but sometimes people get files in that format. Compatibility is always a good thing. If I have a choose between two systems, I'm going to go with the one that can read both systems' files.

I am still wondering about the ability and quality of reading pdf's. The standard pdf reader on a crackberry is junk and the stuff doesn not come out looking anything like what it is supposed to look like which makes it very diffiicult to use. The app Repligo fixed that so I guess I have to wait till the end of the month to hold one in my hands and see how it works. Still hoping it will work for what I need it to do otherwise I will end up going to the dark side.

And the answer is!

Yes and no.
It will open a pdf file and it does indeed look just fine but you cannot click and embedded ph# or email on the pdf. Doesn't work.

It will read .doc files though.
