Functions available after ATT termination?

I have an iphone with ATT contract. Can I use the non-phone functions like Wifi, iPod, etc., AFTER I terminate the ATT contract?

I would expect so. I know they found a way to use the iphone without registering it, except as a phone. I'm not sure though.
