They sure built the hype up really good on this phone and it worked pretty well. 500,000 sold already in a couple of days and I'm sure that number will jump significantly in the coming week as people take the week off and go on 4th of July holidays and shop around.

Its all the hype that's working still now. It lacks quite a few important features needed in a phone. Apple being a large company has been successful to maintain the hype still now. But i doubt how long they can keep it up.
