iPhone on vodafone ireland?

Hi There,

I wonder can anyone help me with this query. I am a vodafone customer in Ireland where only iPhones are available on the O2 network. I will be travelling to Italy shortly. I know Vodafone have the rights to the Iphone over there. If i purchased a 'pay as you go' iphone in Italy on the vodafone network, will it work on the vodafone network in Ireland?

No I don't think cause as you have told in Ireland iPHones are only available in O2. So might a little chance to have in vodafone.
